Our 'Alternative' Burns Supper filled the Old Sawmill last month with a lively crowd cheering as the Haggis was piped in - with a twist on the traditional ceremony.
After a fulsome Welcome and Burns introduction by Sandra, a jolly, very round 'Piper' showed off the Giant Haggis to the assembled guests. MC/quizmaster John did the formal Adress to the Haggis before plunging his knife into the beast. And the fun began!
The food was delicious, accompanied by a welcome dram, and the quizmaster did a fine job of pitting wits against each other. Generally agreed to be 'one of the best yet', the challenge has been set for an even better 'do' next year.
